How to Access SSH or How to Access Hosting for Your Domain

This article explains how to access your hosting control panel or SSH for your domain and how to point your domain to your hosting provider.

Updated over a week ago

We are a domain provider and do not offer web hosting or SSH access. If you need access to your hosting control panel or SSH, please contact your hosting provider, where your website files and server environment are managed.

This article will help you:

  • Identify your hosting provider

  • Access your hosting panel or SSH

  • Connect your domain to your hosting provider using nameservers or DNS records

How to identify your hosting provider

If you’re unsure where your domain is hosted, you can try the following:

1. Review your purchase history

Check past emails, invoices, or payment records to find out which company you signed up with for web hosting.

2. Look for confirmation emails

When you purchased hosting, your provider likely sent a confirmation email with login details and setup instructions.

3. Check your payment method history

If you can’t find an invoice, check your credit card or bank statements for any recurring hosting-related charges.

How to access your hosting panel or SSH

Your hosting provider is responsible for giving you access to your hosting control panel or SSH. Once you have identified your hosting provider, visit their website and contact their support team for assistance.

Your hosting provider’s support team can guide you on how to:

  • Log in to your hosting control panel (cPanel, Plesk, etc.)

  • Enable SSH access

  • Use FTP or other file management tools to upload/manage website files

How to point your domain to your hosting provider using nameservers or DNS records

You can connect your domain to your hosting provider’s server in one of the following ways:

Option 1: Change your nameservers

Update your domain’s nameservers to those provided by your hosting provider. Once updated, all DNS records will be managed by your hosting provider.

For detailed steps, follow our guide on How to Change or Switch Your Nameservers.

Option 2: Add or change DNS records

If you want to manage your domain’s DNS settings within your account while using external hosting, you use our default nameservers and add an A record (or other necessary DNS records) to point your domain to your hosting provider’s server IP address.

For detailed steps, follow our guide on How to Add or Change DNS Records.

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for the changes to take effect due to DNS propagation. For more details, you can refer to our article on How Long Does DNS Propagation Take.
