What are nameservers?
Nameservers are specialized servers that store DNS Records and route internet traffic to the correct destination. They act as directories, ensuring that when someone enters your domain (e.g., example.com), they are directed to the correct server for your website, email, or other services.
Default nameservers refer to the standard nameservers provided by DotServe. Using default nameservers allows you to manage your DNS Records directly within your account. If you switch to custom nameservers (from an external DNS provider), you will need to manage DNS records outside of the DotServe platform.
For more information on DNS records and their purpose, refer to our guide on How to Add, Edit, or Delete DNS Records.
