This article explains how to restore your domain during the domain restoration period.

Updated over a month ago

What is the domain restoration period

If your domain is not renewed within 30 days after it expires, it enters the domain restoration period, which lasts for another 30 days.

Here’s what happens during the domain restoration period:

  • Your domain and all associated services, including websites and email, will stop working

  • Your domain is inactive, but it cannot be registered by anyone else during this time

  • You can still recover your domain by paying a restoration fee, which is higher than the standard renewal fee

How to restore your domain

To restore your domain, log in to your account.

Follow these steps to log in to your account:

1. Open your browser and navigate to the website or platform where you purchased your domain

2. Locate and click the Login button, typically found in the top-right corner or in the menu

3. Enter your email address (used for registration) and password

4. Click Log in or Sign in (depending on the platform)

5. Once logged in, click Account or My Account (depending on the platform), usually in the top-right corner or in the menu

You have successfully logged in.

Follow these steps to restore your domain:

1. Find your domain under Your domains and click the Manage button (you can also search for your domain using the Search icon)

2. Under the Overview tab, scroll to the Domain information section

3. Click Restore now

4. On the Domain restoration page, click Pay now to proceed

  • If you already have a card on file, the payment will be completed immediately

  • If you don’t have a card on file, you’ll be prompted to add and save your card details before completing the payment

Once the payment is successful, it will take 24 to 48 hours for the restoration to complete at the domain registry.
